Dr. Alex Anawati, B.Sc., MD., CCFP-EM is an ER physician at Health Sciences North in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada and at the West Nipissing General Hospital in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario A member of NOSM’s charter class, he has continued his involvement at the medical school as an Assistant Professor, Global Health Coordinator, and member of the school’s Board of Directors. He is also a member of the College of Family Physicians of Canada’s Social Accountability Working Group and represents NOSM on AMEE’s ASPIRE for Excellence Social Accountability Panel. He is the principle investigator for Social Accountability as the Framework for Engagement (SAFE) for Health Institutions, which aims to implement and test a social accountability framework as a pilot in HSN’s Emergency Department.
